(1-2022) CREST HILL: WEST SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS The Project includes the following Work: Increasing the capacity of the West Sewage Treatment Plant from a current design average flow (DAF), design maximum flow (DMF), and peak hourly flow (PHF) of 1.3 million gallons per day (mgd), 3.0 mgd, and 9.0 mgd, respectively, to a DAF, DMF, and PHF of 2.2 mgd, 5.5 mgd, and 13.8 mgd, respectively. Expansion includes a new Headworks Complex with mechanically-cleaned fine screening, influent flow metering, influent pumping, and primary clarification; new aeration tanks; two new final clarifiers; replacement of existing sand filters with new cloth disc filters in the existing Filter Building; new ultraviolet disinfection and post aeration; and new plant outfall. Improvements also include one new Excess Flow Clarifier, liquid chlorine excess flow disinfection, and sodium bisulfite dechlorination; a new Blower Building housing blowers, chemical phosphorus removal facilities, and return activated sludge pumping; a new Administration Building; conversion of the existing aeration tanks to aerobic digesters; demolition of the existing Administration Building and Anaerobic Digestion Complex; and miscellaneous piping, mechanical, heating, and air conditioning, electrical, supervisory control and data acquisition, and site improvements.
